1st race today not what we wanted, birds liberated in a strong westerly wind at 2.20.pm the first bird to arrive on the allotments was at 3 .24pm then another 3.25 then big gaps in between the birds all appart from the first 2 had come from the north indicating that the birds had been taken over on the east side of the country and past over us .out of 241 birds on the allotments not half home after 2 hours. i was way behined winner about 20 minuets, still waiting for 3 from 8 hens sent.
Normaly a race from such a short distance all 10 club positions are taken in the first 2 minuetsbut today took 7 minuets.
they must have flown well past before realiseing and turning back on themselves.
As we are loberated in the UNC in 6 groups with 20 minuet intervals in between and 5 federations in each group they cpould have been over the top by about 100 miles.

theres always next week to get the birds right.
